Background

Spreading a culture of patient-centered care across the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area, Core Rehab stands out as a physical therapy practice dedicated to exceeding expectations. Led by the passionate Noah Burton, PTA and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Core Rehab prioritizes evidence-based practices and personalized care at their four locations. Their commitment shines through their diverse services, including manual therapy, sports injury rehabilitation, lymphedema care, and post-surgical recovery programs.

Challenge

Embracing innovation is at the heart of Core Rehab's mission. Recognizing the limitations of their paper-based intake system, they embarked on a journey to find a digital solution that aligned with their goals of offering patient-centered care and enhanced efficiency.

"Our old paper forms were like an obstacle course for patients and staff," said Noah. "It took forever to fill them out, leading to frustrated patients and backed-up schedules."

The manual nature of the forms also posed risks of errors and inconsistencies, making it difficult to access critical patient information and provide high-quality, timely treatment.

Solution

Recognizing the need for a transformative solution, Noah sought a partner with a patient-centered approach to efficiency. WebPT’s end-to-end platform emerged as the perfect fit for Core Rehab’s unique needs.

“We chose WebPT because they understand therapists," said Noah.

"Unlike our old system, WebPT is actually designed for how we work, making documentation simpler and faster."

Allowing patients to conveniently pre-fill forms online before their appointments frees up time for their front office and gives patients a more streamlined, convenient experience. Plus, WebPT's EMR automatically pre-populates patient medical history and medication lists from their forms, letting therapists start their appointments prepared and on time.

Noah noted, "DPI helps us focus on what matters most: our patients," further highlighting the positive impact the solution has had on their workflows.

Core Rehab also uses Therabill as its billing solution. The seamless integration with WebPT ensures smooth data transfer and eliminates manual entry errors, so they can easily handle complex tasks, streamline workflows, and save valuable time.

Benefits

Streamlined intake through DPI has freed up valuable time for personalized interactions and quicker treatment initiation. Since launching in April 2022, Core Rehab has created over 2,847 digital intake records, and once started, 83.23% of patients fully completed their intake.

"DPI has been a game-changer!" said Noah. "Since switching, our wait times have practically vanished! Patients love filling out forms online beforehand, and it frees up our staff to focus on what they do best: helping people."

As for billing, Therabill has optimized the team’s workflows significantly and removed unnecessary complexities for their multi-location setups.

Conclusion

Core Rehab's story exemplifies the power of embracing digital tools to enhance efficiency. By prioritizing innovative solutions, they reduced wait times, enhanced patient and clinician experiences, streamlined workflows, and increased accessibility—setting a new standard for patient-centered physical therapy.
