Veda Collmer is the General Counsel for Phoenix Spine and Joint. Prior to this position, she served as the in-house counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for WebPT, a leading provider in health information technology (HIT) software for outpatient rehabilitation therapy providers. Veda’s practice areas focus on regulatory and compliance matters, including HIPAA, HITECH and other healthcare IT issues, anti-kickback/fraud and abuse, and compliance with state privacy and data security laws and regulations. Veda has spoken at numerous professional and state bar conferences, as well as written about regulations governing health care in academic journals, textbooks, and trade publications.Veda received the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Public Health Law Fellowship in 2012 and completed her fellowship at the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. Prior to earning her law degree, Veda was an occupational therapist, providing rehabilitation services in various healthcare settings.
