Erica McDermott, MA, CNC, is a senior writer for WebPT, a eight-time Inc. 5000 honoree and the market-leading software platform for physical, occupational, and speech therapists. She began writing for WebPT in 2012, helping to land the company’s brand direction and voice. Since then, she has authored hundreds of well-researched blog posts, guides, and speeches, establishing WebPT as the third most-searched resource for industry news and education (behind only the industry’s professional organization and a government payer).In 2015, Erica wrote a grant that landed a children’s non-profit more than $500,000 to enhance their curriculum. In 2016, she ghostwrote a non-fiction book that reached No. 1 in the careers section on Amazon and closed in on top 20 in all of business. In 2019, she followed her passion for holistic health and nutrition to become a certified nutrition consultant for pregnancy, postpartum, and babies. She now also serves as an advisor at Oh Baby Academy, the first nutrition school to focus solely on teaching and certifying practitioners to holistically support moms and babies.Erica received her master’s degree in social science with an emphasis on cognitive psychology from the University of Chicago. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and their cat, Taz.
